FISHING GUIDE / Where to fish with a hook in Durrës, a rare guide for amateur fishermen

A rare guide with at least 44 fishing spots has been prepared and published on social networks in recent days. The guide contains the 'location' for each of these fishing spots and meanwhile provides ample information about the fish or other marine species that can be fished in each of them.

Guide has been published in Facebook in albania and english, in Instagram in albanian and english as well as in You Tube.

It also includes the rules of recreational and tourist fishing, thus marking the first time when such a document is put at the service of fishing tourists.

The guide was compiled by the Center for Transparency and Freedom of Information and supported by UNDP Albania.

In addition to fishing data, the guide offers through videos and photos wonderful views of the area, many of which are rarely visited by residents or tourists, while you can also discover traditional fishing methods but also those adapted through 'an innovation' that does not it would come to your mind.

Durres County recreational fishing destinations

Lalzi Bay

There are 6 km of beach from Tarini Stream up to Fushë Draç in the north of Lalzi bay that can be visited for recreational fishing during autumn, winter and spring.

Cape of Rodoni near Rodoni market

This destination is located on the outskirts of the village of Shetaj, which is also the last inhabited point of Cape of Rodoni, about 1 km away from the newly built Prive resort on the northern hill of the Cape on the outskirts of Shetaj village.

Cape Rodon, St. Anthony's Church

After fishing, you can choose to go to a camping site near the Church of Shen Ndoi, among greenness, next to the sea and military barracks from the communist era such as bunkers or underground tunnels.

Rera e Bardhe beach, Cape of Rodon

It is a destination on the southern side of Cape Rodon. Before ascending to the beach don't forget to stop at the highest point of Rodon which is along the road leading to the beach for a stunning 360 degree view of the Adriatic Sea coast, from Karaburuni Peninsula to Velipojë beach.

The estuary of Ishmi River

The Ishmi river estuary is the northernmost fishing destination in the Durrës region. It is located at the edge Cape of Rodon and bordering Lezha district, from where a series of natural parks with several lagoons close to each other are found.
