It is located at the edge of the pedestrian road of Currilave, one of the most attractive spots in the Durrës city and in the whole of Albania. It can be considered a fishing destination as well as octopus can be fished with the assistance of diving equipments like diving mask, snorkel tube, diving fins, fishing arrows and fishing spear gun. The octopus has found here an excellent habitat to live and feed because the marine area near the coast is filled with the old ruins of the ancient city of Durrës.

Underwater tourism in Durrës is in its first steps. Archaeological researchers found in this underwater space "Dolium", the large wine container, unique among archaeological findings in Albania, taken from a Roman ship of the II-III century AD drowned in Durrës. It is exhibited in the Archaeological Museum of Durrës city. It took about 3 months to desalinate it and 8 months to restore it. After a hard work, Dolium is exhibited in the museum which is located only 190 meters from the octopus fishing spot and it can be reached on foot in 2 minutes.

The area is among the busiest in Durrës city and in the country also. A number of restaurants have been built along the coast offering a variety of cuisines with seafood and pizza. On the same street is the Cela Gelateria, where the most famous ice creams in Durrës and in Albania are sold with all kinds of flavors with fruits, flowers and local plant aromas. Meanwhile, you can also taste "international dishes" such as KFC and Sushi. You can also contemplate the city of Durrës, the Port and the hills around it while standing in the "Sphinx", a recent construction.

The photo illustrates a case of fishing. In the photo and video, a person can be seen wearing an underwater diving suit, while he is also equipped with a hunting weapon. He is waiting to catch octopus but if any fish shows up anywhere near him he will surely shoot at it.

Warning: In any diving or swimming zones, you should watch out of inflatable balloons as warning signs for boats or jet skis that may move in the area.
