To get there from Tirana city you have to follow the Tirana-Lac road that passes through the Thumanë-Lac highway. The distance from Tirana city up to the Shllinze Canal pumping station is 49.6 km and can be reached by car in 1 hour and 2 minutes. It is 32.1 km away from Rinas Airport and takes 49 minutes. It is 27.1 km from Lezha city and takes 32 minutes by car to go there.

On the Thumanë-Lac highway turn right for Lac and Patok if you come from Tirana city and if you come from Lezha city turn right to Patok about 200 meters after entering the highway. From the highway to Patok the distance is 7 km and it takes 9 min to go there. If you are coming from Patok, turn west in the center of this village and then follow the signs that direct you to the Adriatik village in the South. From Patok the distance is 3.1 km, and can be covered in 4 minutes by car. Fishing is allowed on both sides of the canal in front of the pumping station. During the weekend, dozens of fishermen will always be present on the bank of the canal up where it flows into the sea, while there you can hunt for mullet, bass, anchovy, eel, common sole and annular sea breame.

While fishing, you can also contemplate fishing by the locals with traditional equipments such as kalimera, (small suspended net) bialanç (big suspended net)or kariq. There is little movement as a result of the scarce number of inhabitants in the villages around the Patok lagoon. But next to the pumping station is the Shllinza bar restaurant where you can taste fast traditional dishes of the area, including oven baked eel and chicken, cheese, pickles, etc.
